Dear St. Ann Parents,

I trust everyone is having a restful summer – it does go by quickly. This spring and summer, the Home and School Association has taken a look at our committees to see what works, what doesn’t, and where we can provide more support to Mrs. Brooks, the admin staff and teachers. We have formed several new committees to help in this effort, which are: Environmental, Faith Enrichment, 50-Year Anniversary, Publicity, and School Pride. More detailed information will be available about the scope of these committees at Orientation and at the first Home and School meeting of the year.

After going to your child’s classroom on Orientation Day (Tuesday, August 10th from 7:30am-12:00pm), please come to the old gym, where Home and School will have pre-packaged school supplies for grades Pre-K through 6, dictionaries, desk bags and Bibles for sale, along with rainy day placard order forms. Please print the attached ‘Orientation Check-out’ form, and fill it in ahead of time, so that check-out will go more quickly for everyone. Please note (it’s also notated on the supply list that Mrs. Brooks sent out in June) that certain supplies are not included in the pre-packaged supply kits this year, but will be available for purchase separately, so you can still get all of your supplies in one place. We will accept personal checks and cash only.

Also on Orientation Day in the gym, we will have volunteer sign-ups for all the Home and School committees, including the new committees mentioned above. Please prayerfully consider how you might give of your time and talent this year. Representatives from other clubs and organizations, such as Scouts, Athletics, Yearbook, Karate, Colts Club, Spirit Shop and Block Party will also be on hand to answer any questions you may have and to accept sign-ups.

Please mark your calendar for the first Home and School meeting of the year on Tuesday, September 7, at 7:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria, to see what else Home and School has planned for our upcoming 50 th Anniversary year. Just a reminder that there are only 4 meetings per year now, on the first Tuesdays of September, November, February and April. Hopefully with fewer meetings, we can all fit them into our schedules, so the Home and School Association can truly be representative of our parents.
